Weekly Challenge #7

Field Trip to Boulder

This is one of the pillars inside of the tea house.

This is the ceiling design in the tea house.

This is the Court House of Boulder. I really like the trees kind of framing the building.

This is one of the son's of the creator of the tea house repainting the designs on the outside. It was awesome to be able to see him working. He is doing this for the entire tea house.

Weekly Challenge #6

This is the first image I have created on Adobe Illustrator. It was difficult to create all the layers and connect the words with the lines at first, but after I finished, it turned out to be a great design.

Weekly Challenge #5

My weekly challenge this week was Food Art. I decided to get creative, and designed a background scenery along with little people. The first image is a close up of a group of 3 little people sitting around a campfire. To create the little people, I cut pieces of celery, put a mini marshmallow on each of them, and stuck toothpicks cut in half on each side to create the arms. I added the eyes and mouth on Photoshop. The campfire is made of a normal size marshmallow with pieces of cut pretzel in it. The second image is a close up of the 'marshmallow berry-pickers'. There is one adult 'marshmallow berry picker' and one young 'marshmallow berry picker', who are coming back from picking 'marshmallow berries' in the little forest. The final image is a view of the entire piece. There is an igloo in the middle, a 'marshmallow berry' forest to the left, and a pile of wood to the right. The igloo is made of marshmallows and toothpicks, the 'marshmallow berries' are made of one mini marshmallow shoved into a raspberry, and the pile of wood is made of pretzels cut into small pieces. To create a snowy effect, I shaved ice and put it on the ground.

Narrative Project

My narrative project was based on the theme/story of Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil. In order to get these shots, I went into a dark room, and set a long shutter speed. Then, on Photoshop, I added the smoke - from my own shots, only a couple of them are brushes. I tried to tie together these 4 pictures by adding the same color tones and adding the smoke around the sides.

Weekly Challenge #4

This week, I worked on smoke photography. To get this image, I burned a piece of paper outside at night, and took the picture of the smoke after blowing it out. It was difficult, but fun to take!
